From Ukraine to the world. This is the story of how Marée Home came to be, and why it matters.
“We are creators of our own life. We design our surroundings. We decide what home feels like.”Maria, Founder of Marée Home

From Ukraine to the World
I started Marée Home in Vancouver in April 2026. But if I am honest, it started much earlier, in the moments that felt extremely difficult.
I am from Ukraine. I came to Canada at the end of 2019, alone, learning what independence really means when there is no safety net beneath you, a family and friends back then are 7,000 km away.
I lost a close friend in Ukraine to the war. My beloved cat died. I was not raised with a family that was always present, so I learned independence very early. Perhaps too early.
We are the creators of our own life. We design our surroundings. We choose what we come home to.
That understanding gave me permission I had been waiting for without knowing it. I needed to embrace the unknown, the scary things, to become fearless enough to change my life for the better.
I had to move. I had to travel. I had to design the life I actually wanted. Yes, from scratch. Yes, from nothing. But so meaningful, so true to me, free of judgments, free of limits.
In March 2024 I left for Bali. Six months of warm mornings and people who welcomed you exactly as you were. A lifestyle full of genuine connection and freedom. Then I returned to Ukraine from September to December 2024. Watching a home you love in so much pain, friends scattered across the world. It made something very clear: I wanted more for my life.
In December 2024 I moved to Vancouver. I slowly understood it was the only place in Canada that truly aligned with who I was becoming. Then California called. Santa Monica, San Diego, Santa Barbara. My closest friends are from California and I feel they are my family. People who love freely, without conditions, without judgment.
I came back to Vancouver in January 2026. And in April 2026, Marée Home was born.
Marée Home is a reminder of what home truly means: your own space, deeply loved, filled with warmth and presence.
It is built on family values, where family is present and warm and loves each other deeply and unconditionally, like the fire of a candle. That is something I am still building for myself. And it will not only be my journey. It will be the journey of Marée Home too.
I chose candles because they are connected to home. As an immigrant and Ukrainian girl who never truly had a present family even back home, I understand what it means to crave that warmth. I think God wanted me to go through this journey for a simple purpose: to give people a sense of home within themselves and with their families.
In the most difficult moments, even when it feels like you cannot, your space can make you feel calmer, more at ease, more intimate with the people you love. Scents connect us to memories. And memories carry us home.
Marée Home is for everyone who wants to feel at home, connected to themselves and what they love. To create coziness in their own space. To have scents associated with warm family moments, with loved ones, or with the quiet beauty of being by yourself.
With love, Maria

Marée Home is born. A brand built to remind you: home is something you build from within.
Why Marée
Named for the tide
Marée is the French word for tide. Constant, returning, unhurried. The ocean does not question whether it is allowed to come back. It simply does.
That is what this brand is about. The quiet returning: to yourself, to the people you love, to the space that holds you.
A candle lit at the end of a long day. A scent that pulls a memory forward. A moment that asks nothing of you except to be present in it.
Marée Home is for everyone who has ever had to build their sense of home from scratch. For the immigrant. For the one who has lost. For the woman who knows that beauty and peace are not luxuries. They are necessities, and she is allowed to have them.
The tide always comes back. So do you.

How We Make Them
Every detail chosen with care
I chose coconut wax because it is organic and safe, kind to the air in your home and the people in it. I chose wooden wicks because that soft crackling sound as the candle burns genuinely makes you feel more at peace, more present, more well. Every Marée candle is hand-poured in small batches in Vancouver, BC, with the same intention it takes to create something that truly matters.
Coconut wax

Wooden wicks

Phthalate-free fragrance
Scents chosen for how they make you feel: warm, grounded, gently held.
Hand-poured in Vancouver, BC
Small batches, made by hand. Every single one.
Your Ritual Awaits
